The amazing artist Katrin Olina creates not only fascinating images, she recently finished designing the interior of the Cristal Bar in a middle of concrete jungle of Hong Kong.
One of the main goals in designing this bar interior was using only one finish material, but to improvise on using whimsical imagery by the artist.
The project was done is collaboration with 3M material manufacturer. Olina used the company’s specialized film and print technology to produce her graphics. The giant computer illustrations continuously flow from the walls on to the floors of the interior, creating a painting which engages the entire space.
The Cristal Bar has won numerous international awards, including the Forum Aid Award in Stockholm, the SEGD Merit Prize in San Diego and the DV Culture Prize in Iceland in 2009.
