The main concept behind L’Atelier Cafe design (in Romania) was a simple idea – the need for a space to influence the mood at a deep level of human perception. That kind of perception can only be influenced by cultural elements and aspects. So this became a space which celebrated culture of Romania in its raw representation.
Two talented teams cooperated on this project: Marius Bocan, Vlad Paul, George Mosoia- on one side, and Dan Paul, Bogdan Goția and Tiberiu Bucur- on the other. The second team was made of three architecture students which possibly explains the amazing creativity of the space and its uniqueness.
The cafe was officially opened on May 13th, 2010. Some of the interior work was done by volunteers which created additional cultural atmosphere around. The unique furniture and the light fixtures are made out of cardboard and look fantastic under the hand made wood ceiling.
This cafe will have other cultural activities going on inside: different workshops, portraits and caricatures sessions, photo exhibits, life concerts, theater plays which are part of that link between space and personality. What a great place to spend your time exploring local culture white sipping good coffee!
