If you have been following us for a while, you know that we never pass an opportunity to work on a frozen yogurt kiosk design project or spread some happy colors into the world. We have recently done both when we completed the design of the Yogurt & Yogurt Kiosk in Moreno Valley Mall, Moreno Valley, California. In addition, we created the logo, as a part of their branding effort.

Working with a limited space, such as a kiosk, has both advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, the functionality of every corner must be well designed and managed, so that the business can run smoothly even in such a small area. On the other hand, using vibrant colors can make a kiosk truly stand out and make a statement. It is exactly what we did with this self-serve frozen yogurt kiosk design.
We started with a playful and cheerful logo designed in vibrant yellow and pink, colors that call to mind days of fun in the sun and the aromas of fruity sweet treats. We extended these colors to the design of the self-serve area, the counter and to the one pink accent wall. To balance them out, we introduced warm and neutral wood tones through the laminated wood planks running horizontally on the walls. The white quartz countertop and the white decorative running trim on the soffit were another way to bring in some clean neutrals, so that the strong colors do not tire the eye.
While we used yellow wall tiles for the self-serve area, the yellow backlit counter and soffit brought the bright factor into the mix. The light element puts the kiosk in the spotlight and makes the kiosk more visible and appealing.
To illuminate the space, we chose modern light fixtures with a simple spherical, black-and-white design. The round shape paired well with the three-piece back wall signage and, when used as sconces, created a charming street-light effect in the self-serve area.
A black steel trim defined and grounded the whole area and tied in with the black in the logo. A few steps to the right, a simple bench invites customers to a short moment of relaxation, underneath an appetizing picture of a yogurt treat. In order to make the brand easily recognizable and to bring the customers to associate these sunny colors with this yogurt shop we made sure that the logo – or elements of it – is perfectly visible from every angle.
