We recently had the opportunity to create a full branding and interior design package for MISO Ramen & Poke Bar, a growing Japanese restaurant franchise that reimagines tradition through a contemporary lens. Our goal was to build a strong, scalable franchise brand, and a clear, replicable identity—one that supports growth across multiple locations while staying true to their unique identity.

While rooted in authentic Japanese cuisine, MISO takes a contemporary approach to both food and atmosphere—merging time-honored recipes with bold, innovative flair. The result is a dining experience that feels familiar yet fresh, refined yet relaxed.

We have long specialized in helping franchises create or update their branding and interior guidelines so they can replicate seamlessly across multiple locations. For any franchise to thrive, brand consistency across all locations isn’t just ideal—it’s essential. Without it, maintaining a strong, recognizable identity becomes nearly impossible, and one poorly executed location can damage the entire brand’s reputation. That’s why one of the most critical early steps in setting up a successful franchise system is developing a clear, comprehensive branding package.
Our work with MISO focused on exactly that: establishing detailed guidelines that make it easy for each new location to capture the same spirit, style, and quality.

Our clear and easy-to-follow interior design package for MISO shows exactly how each location should look—covering everything from the layout and lighting to materials, colors, and signage—so that every new restaurant feels like part of the same brand. At the same time, we made sure to leave room for small local touches, so each space can connect with its community without losing the overall MISO vibe. The result is a flexible set of design guidelines that keeps the brand consistent while still feeling fresh and personal.

Each space in the restaurant is thoughtfully designed to reflect Japanese street culture, with a layout that encourages both social connection and quiet moments. Whether guests come in for a quick bite alone or gather with friends at a shared table, the environment offers cozy sophistication and thoughtful engagement. THis is because MISO isn’t just about great food—it’s about the full experience.

The interior guidelines were all about striking the right balance—mixing clean, minimalist lines with layers of tradition, a bit of street-style edge with the quiet beauty of Japanese craftsmanship. We aimed for an effortless, but thoughtful vibe, both simple and rich in meaning.
Decor choices play a big role in that feeling. Bold, brushstroke-style calligraphy murals bring a touch of old-world artistry to the walls. We added bamboo accents and slim, minimal planters to keep things natural and grounded. The color palette is warm and inviting—lots of natural wood tones, soft off-white, black for contrast, and pops of red inspired by Japan’s famous torii gates. It’s a look that feels rooted and modern all at once.

The seating layout is just as intentional. Communal tables invite casual connection. Bar stools line up in front of the open kitchen for a front-row seat to the action. For a more relaxed pace, there are cozy little tables—perfect for quieter moments without stepping away from the energy of the space.

Materials were chosen to reflect MISO’s style and soul. Warm woods make everything feel welcoming and tie back to traditional Japanese interiors. The pebble-look floor tiles add a textured, grounded feel, while bamboo wallpaper adds subtle depth to the walls. Lighting ties it all together—soft pendant lights and paper lanterns create a warm, easygoing atmosphere that glows, rather than glares.

Along with the interior design package, we also created a full set of branded graphics and general stationery for MISO. This included everything from the logo and font selections to business cards. We put together a clear color palette with both Pantone and RGB codes to make sure the brand looks consistent—whether it’s on a printed menu, a staff T-shirt, or a social media ad.

Whenever we work on a brand and interior package, we make sure our clients have all the tools they need to carry their look across every platform. That means easy-to-use graphic assets, clear typefaces, and flexible templates that make future updates simple—whether it’s a new store opening or a quick promo campaign. For MISO, we designed both graphics and patterns that create a familiar look and unify the brand across locations.
