The Opera Garnier’s first restaurant Phantom has opened in July 2011 and already has becoming one of Paris’ hottest spots. It took 6 million Euro and three years to construct this slick place.
After a competition, the design of the project was assigned to Odile DECQ Benoit CORNETTE – Architectes Urbanistes.
The striking contrast of the bright red color with white walls and columns is impeccable. Another noticeable contrast is between the traditional classical style of the theater itself with the contemporary organically flowing shapes.
One of the most interesting features of this restaurant design is the curves of the glass curtain on the restaurant’s façade, draping between the historical pillars.
