Fresh, natural, and calming — this is the spirit behind the updated interior design of Movita Juice Bar.
We recently teamed up with another fast growing franchise, this time a wellness-focused company, to update the interior of their location in Norwalk, California. Movita Juice Bar is a fast-growing franchise known for its nutritious offerings and clear philosophy. Built on the idea that healthy eating should be simple, wholesome, and delicious, the company uses 100% natural, high-quality ingredients and unique recipes to create irresistible treats for its health-conscious customers. From natural fruit smoothies and fresh-squeezed juices to colorful fruit cocktails and light bites like wraps and sandwiches, this is a menu meant to spread health one customer at a time.
Movita prepares all its products in-store, never pre-bottling juices or using sugar or frozen fruit. This approach highlights the brand’s focus on quality and well-being, a message that needed to come through in the space itself. Ther company is also a member of the International Franchise Professionals Group (IFPG), which shows how serious they are about doing things right across all their locations.

There was a hint of the interior design hidden right in the brand’s name. “MoVita = More Life” became the guiding idea for a space that embodies positivity and vitality, highlighted by inobtrusive touches of color. Unlike the typical juice bar, often visually loud and filled with bold graphics, Movita was conceived as a space defined by restraint, calm, and balance, yet uses color to reflect the freshness and energy of its offerings.
We did not design this space to feel like a coffee shop or dessert store, where indulgence and impulse buying are encouraged. Instead, it was planned as a wellness-driven environment, a reminder of a healthy lifestyle that is not only approachable, but also fun.
The space is relatively small, which could easily have made it feel cramped or stressful. To prevent this and instead create a pleasant atmosphere, we employed a series of design strategies. The layout allows continuous traffic flow, gentle curves guide and welcome customers, furniture is minimalist, and natural light is amplified by light-toned materials. Floor tiles run the entire length of the space without interruption, visually opening it, while product shelving is placed strategically to prevent congestion. Together, these choices create a space that feels relaxing and restorative rather than cramped, inviting rather than cumbersome.

The chromatic makeup (drawn from Movita’s existing brand colors) is fresh and invigorating while carrying a subtle message. Green represents life itself, while blueberry purple evokes the vital power of antioxidants and nutrient-rich ingredients. Soft lavender contributes to the serenity of the space. A light neutral background of whites and grays allows the accent colors to stand out even more, making their presence immediately noticeable. Visual interest is achieved through variations in materials—the shapes, sizes, directions, and patterns of the tiles and wall panels add texture and movement without overwhelming the eye.
Color is applied with careful moderation, yet it sets the tone for the space. It creates a moment of pause and visual refreshment, with nothing overstimulating. The interior encourages the customer to breathe, slow down, and reset.

The furniture is simple, with clean lines and efficient design, allowing maximum use of the space. Two distinct seating areas offer different experiences. Counter-height stools by the window provide a quick glimpse of the outdoors and a brief stop, while a long built-in bench with integrated cushions along the wall adds texture and comfort, encouraging slightly longer stays. However, the layout still supports high turnover and short, intentional visits.
The custom-built display shelves are functional and uncluttered, with no unnecessary elements. The goal is visual calm, and the result achieves exactly that. Furniture does not dominate the space; it completes it.
Greenery shelves, reinforcing a connection to nature, stretch along the length of the wall, creating vertical balance with the bench and tables. Their structure is simple yet has strong visual impact. The effect comes partly from the contrast between the cool metallic bars and the flowing, delicate appearance of cascading plants. Minimalist pendant lights hang above the tables, providing directional light while echoing the green theme and tying the composition together.
Subtle branded LED symbols and uplifting wellness messages integrated into the walls are the only additional accents. Yet they capture the essence of the store with precision, highlighting its focus on natural ingredients and healthy practices. Introduced with restraint, these elements make the space quietly energizing rather than dominated by graphics.

However, the main focus and architectural centerpiece of the juice bar remains the service counter. An elegant composition of curves, porcelain tile, wood, quartz, color, and integrated lighting, it is brought to life by a layered wooden soffit that frames it, accentuates its lines, and creates visual intrigue. Pendant lights visually connect this horizontal element with the counter below, providing warm points of illumination. Abundant displays of fresh fruits and vegetables on the counter near the entrance signal health, quality, and freshness. Product display niches enhance the vertical dimension of the counter, creating a sense of depth and layering.
Every detail of the juice bar is designed to support the concept of a health-centered space. Visual noise is removed, and lighting is warm and understated, creating a soft ambient glow. Surfaces are easy to maintain, and the combination of light-wood finishes with cool tiles promotes a sense of order and cleanliness throughout the space. This juice bar interior perfectly translates the brand’s vision into tangible design elements.
