The Beauty of Bamboo Plywood and Its Application in Interior Design Projects.
Bamboo is a wonderful material that can be used in a wide range of projects and for many different purposes. It has a lot of excellent features that make it a great choice for any health and environmental impact conscious interior designer. Plybam Bamboo plywood is made from 100{7f6b511118f3db1a05f160455b7bc2b69710387d1f828e7e1b6a763a6e34bbc4} Moso bamboo.
Bamboo plywood is considered a sustainable material and used for “green design” because it is a fast renewable resource. That simply means that it takes much less time for bamboo to grow and the process of harvesting is very gentle on nature. Bamboo that is cut down and harvested can regrow in five years or less. The adhesive (binder) for Plybam laminated 3-ply boards is a low emitting which meets E1 standards. E1 emission standards are used in the flooring industry. Wood flooring adhesives that meet E1 formaldehyde standards have less than 0.75 formaldehyde parts per million (ppm). California Air Resource Board Phase 2 CARB Formaldehyde Emission Standards and the Japanese Emission Standards JIS/JAS F**** are more stringent and would therefore be preferred over those that only meet E1. Searching for even more sustainable bamboo plywood try looking for equal to or less than 0.08 ppm formaldehyde parts per million, if possible in your area.
Because bamboo is an environmentally friendly product, it is suitable for LEED certified projects. Plybam for example may contribute to LEED points in these categories:
LEED ® MR Credit 6 – Rapidly Renewable Materials
LEED ® EQ Credit 4 – Low-emitting Materials
In reality, anyone should feel good about using bamboo products! Not only it is green, but it can be used for any type of application on any design project. The tough, durable material is a much longer-lasting alternative to wood for creating furniture, countertops, shelves, and so much more.
Bamboo is an easily manipulated material too. In fact, just about anything that can be done to wood, can be done to bamboo. It can be sawed into pieces, sanded down, painted, stained, and more. Buyers can even choose from different colors, sizes, and styles, making it easy to find the absolute perfect piece of bamboo to meet their needs.
