When you walk into Tsumori Chisato’s Shanghai Boutique, you will notice how the store interior design is as important to the store branding as is its clothing design. Igarashi Design Studio, the store designer for Boutique in Shanghai, together with fashion designer Tsumori Chisato have created a fashion design shopping experience.
Chisato’s is known for his signature floral patterns. While Chisato’s work showcases nature and all that is natural, the store’s interior design works to add geometry and architecture to the space.
Shopping at the Boutique is more like entering a fashion museum. Spotlights showcase different pieces of Chisato’s work. Smaller twinkling lights on the ceiling outline the natural shapes of tables below.
Wall art is a big part of this store interior design. The showrooms are almost completely in white and gold colors. The store designer painted some walls with different shades of semicircles, resembling gold clouds or waves. This accents Chisato’s emphasis on nature and clouds. You will find the prints mirrored from the clothes on the walls.
The real central piece of this store design is the entryway of the show room. A mosaic of bright, multicolored shapes and patterns becomes a great introduction to Chisato’s clothing design inside.
Shopping at Tsumori Chisato’s Shanghai Boutique is a marvelous design experience. While looking at the clothes don’t forget to soak in the flavor of the interior all around you in the marvelous space.
