Located in Milan, Italy, the Taiyo Sushi Bar features a restaurant design that portrays an international, futuristic feel with lavish intricate details all around. Carefully crafted by restaurant interior designer Maurizio Lai, whose work includes Lai Studio, the Taiyo Sushi Bar’s restaurant design is inviting, but not overwhelming.
Consisting of a main central hall and three dining rooms, each section of the restaurant offers customers something new. The central hall’s ceiling are lined with golden metal mesh, giving off a sense of grandness and elegance, while the blue backlighting on the walls conveys feelings of tranquility and relaxation, while also providing a strong focal point for customers.
The golden light fittings that surround the restaurant interior are shaped into a simple, yet lush design. The Taiyo Sushi Bar also features a third dining room located on the lower level. While the restaurant design of the previous level is more geared towards a futuristic atmosphere, the third dining room is embellished with abstract lighting fixtures and walls made from carved wood, metal, and glass.
A grand infinity mirror greets guests at the entrance to the third dining room. The color palette of this section includes gold, silver, and copper, which makes for a more intimate feel, while also staying true to the unique qualities of the restaurant interior. The understated design work of the furniture, customized by the restaurant interior designer, is original, but also gives off a sense of familiarity.
